A UX improvement that would be helpful for productivity, especially when setting a store up using electronic labels for the first time, would be for the vlink application to automatically switch focus to the 'item' field after a label was successfully scanned.
The user experience is that the user:
1) Has a hand on their device (handheld, tablet, mobile) and
2) uses their other hand to manipulate the label to orient it in a manner that the device can 'pick up'.
3) The user then must put down/back the label and
4) return their hand to the device to 'click' and change focus to the item field.
5) Finally, the user then retrieves the item/old-print-tag and
6) manipulates it to orient it in a manner that the device can 'pick up'.
Step 4 could be eliminated by automatically setting the focus to the 'item' field after a label is successfully scanned. This would improve the association process, potentially shaving several seconds and unneeded movement/motion. Across large format retail locations, this could shave hours (even tens of hours) during installs.
Emmanuelle-
Has the release of the new version slated for April 20th been delayed? My Google Play Store version is 1.7.19426 and says it was updated March 4th.
I'm looking forward to seeing if the new build resolves the UX. Thank you for the consideration,
-Will
