Problem:
Locations with labels 'pre-allocated' via the Labels Import process do not have a reliable means of getting feedback as to how many labels are associated to an item versus how many were 'pre-allocated'.
Narrative:
Stores which are in the 'installation' process of adding ESLs to their shelving find it helpful to get a total tag count at the end of each day of their installation process.
This tag count helps in a few ways: it provides feedback to the installation team as to their progress, it lets the team know if more installers/hours need to be added to the team in order to make deadlines, and it lets the ordering/hardware team know if the distribution of tag label sizes is sufficient for a given retail location.
The issue arises when the "Labels Import" process is used to 'pre-allocate' a set of labels to the location within vCloud. The Labels Import provides value in that the initial association process is drastically reduced in time which makes the installation process much easier on the installation team.
The vCloud filtering and reporting tools do not allow for a differentiation between a label which has been associated to an item versus a label which was imported to the store.
Proposed Solution:
Within vCloud (both the application and the exported location/label reports) differentiate between a label which has an item assigned to it and a label which is associated to a location but has not yet had an item assigned to it.
Hi William,
First of all, I would like to thank you for our latest meeting together, this was much clearer for us.
I put this idea as "pending" as today we will not be able to implement it on the GUI and we also need to review the feasibility and how we can integrate this feature into the platform.
However, in the meantime, we would like to provide another tool that could help you and answer your need. I think that @alexandre joyal as already set a meeting for a demo.
I'll come back to you if we integrate this idea into VUSION Manager later on.
BR,
Emmanuelle

{{apimUrlVManager}}/stores/{{storeId}}/labels?pageSize=1000&includes=labelId,matching.items.status&search=matching.items.status:UNKNOWN
Hi Will,
Will this work:
{{apimUrlVManager}}/stores/{{storeId}}/labels?pageSize=1000&includes=labelId,matching.items.status&search=matching.items.status:UNKNOWN
This will return all ESL-ID that is linked to an unknown item
Emmanuelle-
I'd be happy to explain the gap to see if it is an enhancement your team would potentially pursue. Please email me at wmorrison@hy-vee.com to coordinate.
Thank you,
-Will
Dear William,
We have reviewed your idea but we are not sure to understand your needs exactly.
Could we arrange a meeting together to discuss about this ? If yes, I will send you an email to set up a date.
Thank you for your involvement,
BR,
Emmanuelle
Thank you very much for the explanation.
I will review this idea with the development team next week and come back to you as soon as I have more information on this.
BR,
Emmanuelle
Emmanuelle-
This provides a partial resolution. The installation teams are ultimately looking for feedback on how many tags are 'done' from their perspective. Specifically, that the tag is physically installed and an item is assigned to it. They use this to gauge total progress. An installer would want to know "we have 15,000 tags installed as assigned to items, which is 50% of the total 30,000 tags, some of which are still packed in boxes but are successfully associated to the store ".
The daily count is useful, but does introduce some confusion if matchings are done multiple times for a tag or if the installation takes longer than time period displayed.
I'll note that I have been provided instruction on how to filter the API call to provide a workaround as well, but that has the shortcoming of requiring elevated access to vmanager and, frankly, a level of tech acumen that our installation team is not expected to have.
A full resolution would allow for self service filtering within the existing UI, which is user-friendly enough for the installation team to use. It also would allow them to use the other filters, further refining any potential information gathering they may be doing. I would encourage you to consider adoption of this enhancement.
Thanks again,
-Will
Dear customer,
Thank you very much for you idea.
You can view in your store dashboards the number of ESLs that have been matched in a day.
For this, you need to go on your store dashboard (no1 in the picture) and click on "Matching" on the last graph (no 2 in the picture).
Would this answer to your need ?

Emmanuelle
