Ideas for Vusion Manager

Support front facing camera on V:Link app (iOS and Android)

When using the built in camera on an iOS device, it relatively easy to scan a barcode, but when the tag is mounted to a shelf, you have to flip the device upside down and can't see what you're pointing the camera at.

If there was a toggle to switch cameras, you could hold a mobile device under a tag and see where the camera is looking.

Hello, any updates on this? Being able to select the camera (or trigger a refocus) would be nice as using the camera to scan barcodes is challenging at best.

    Hi,

Sorry, most of the team is on holiday during summer so I did not have the possibility to review the feasibility with them.

I will come back to you as soon as I have more information.

    BR,

    Emmanuelle

    Good morning Jon,

Thank you for your detailed explanation.

Please note that regarding NFC, we plan to correct this bug on the next software release. So you will be able to match a product with the NFC even though there is an URL linked attached to it.

For the second part, I need to check the feasibility/resources with the technical team. I'll come back to you once I have more information on this.

    BR,

    Emmanuelle

I am aware that you can use NFC, but that functionality does not work when you have a label with an NFC URL configured, and our customer is using iPad minis in the stores, which do not have NFC readers.

    Hi Jon,

    Thank you for your idea.

I'll check the feasibility for this and come back to you, but in the meantime, do you know that with iOS devices you can use the NFC ? You can just tap the device on the label to scan the bar code.

    Best Regards,

    Emmanuelle
