Basically title, with the help of SES support we managed to get our laboratory up and running in the cloud Manager infrastructure, yet having to reset 500 ESLs, refresh the page a few times and then reset 500 more isn't that efficient. In client.jar you would just select +10000 ESLs and wait for the program to send the signal to all of them. Thanks in advance!
I am a service engineer for SmartID Dynamics Romania and we do the maintenance for our clients ESLs, including as my post determines, trying to reset said ESLs. After a lot of testing I've figured a way to mass reset more ESLs and thus save more of them from having to be thrown away, and mass resetting would've been great. I understand the risk of accidentally deleting all ESLs, but a "mod" or a secondary api you could install in a said store would be of great help.
Thank you again for all your time and help, and I wish you a lovely ahead!
Daniel
Dear customer,
Thank you for those details.
Unfortunately, we will not implement this idea because it is far too risky to have one button that can erase all ESLs from a store. For this purpose, you can use our APis and batch all labels into one call to delete them all.
Can you please give me more details on why you need to do all that ? What is your process behind ? Maybe I can help you find another way to handle your topic, we have now developed many tools for RMA and defective labels.
Thanks you for your understanding,
Best,
Emmanuelle
Hello there,
Indeed I would use this feature in our laboratory to mass reset ESLs. Our customers send their defective or low battery ESLs and back when we used to have this infrastructure implemented locally (linux core appliance running the server and the SES Client) we would mass register over 3000 ESLs (depending on how many packages we would receive from the different stores around the country) and then upon a succesful register we would mass reset, function that would last anywhere between 2-6 hours.
Now with the Vusion Manager we were told by one of the SES colleagues that upon a mass register we should wait a few hours before deleting, just to ensure a higher synchronization percentage. Having to delete 500, do a few page refreshes until these 500 get wiped and then repeat is quite painful and time consuming, considering on the local Client we just CTRL+A and reset, then after it was done we would just mass delete.
I would like to report a problem but I await for your instructions on how to proceed, I wouldn't want to "change the subject" of this post.
Thank you for your time and help! Have a nice day!
Kind regards,
Cristian Sandu
Dear customer,
Thank you for your idea.
Can you please provide me with more information on why you need to reset all your ESLs at once ? Is it only for your lab or is it a use that you are facing in running stores as well.
Best,
Emmanuelle
