We install c.320 stores per wave with an average of 650 access points. Manually adding each access point to VManager is time consuming and open to human error, we use a script to configure at scale however this is not an enterprie grade solution provided by yourselves so is risky and again, open to issues. We would like a reliable and supported solution to configure access points at scale (including AP name)

There is an API call that allows you to add transmitters to stores from a retail chain. You can indeed develop a small script to add the access points via this API and a configuration file.
We will therefore not implement your demand.
