Background & Current Issue:
When a newly manufactured ESL model sharing the same product part number is released, an SMF design file deployed prior to that release judges the new model as unsupported. Consequently, even if the tag is registered, the display cannot be updated.
To resolve this operational constraint, we respectfully request that the product team consider implementing one of the following two solutions in a future release:
Requested Improvements (Option 1 or Option 2):
Error Message Enhancement: Improve the alert mechanism in V:Manager and Studio so that when an SMF redeployment is required due to an unsupported serial range, an intuitive and easy-to-understand message is immediately notified to the user.
Validation Logic Update: Modify the current specification in Studio that uses a hardcoded whitelist based on ESL serial/ID patterns for deployment checks, allowing the system to determine support based on product type/model names instead.
