The software of the ESL sign should be able to show a symbol such as a diamond on the display when there is no reception.
This minimal adjustment would be an enormous relief as you can see directly on the sign that the sign has no reception without any aids.

Thank you for this idea. Unfortunately, if there is no reception, the ESL cannot get transmission so cannot display any sign. And this is not a minor adjustement as to implement this kind of functionality that would require to redevelop the ESLs firmware to be able to work out of reception signal.
Also, this would require a lot a rules as sometimes ESL can easily switch from online to offline.
If you want to spot offline labels in your store, I would recommend to use Asset Management and the red dot functionality.
